Description
yesternite (tm) i recognized that in the perlin-function i do not normalize the gradients of the function, nor did i so with the difference-to-cornerpoint vectors (is there any term for those vectors?), so i implemented that normalization. first checks show that it does at least reduce the directionality of the function.
this image shows the result, a 360°-render of a dunescape (2d-perlin), plus a mapping to the sphere of the same function (3d-perlin, varies by the domain-scaling). still i am not happy with result, when i look at The Musgrave-Renditions of Ridged Perlin Monofractal.
